H.U.G.S PATIENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

H.U.G.S provides temporary assistance to individuals who are actively in treatment for a cancer diagnosis in the state of Florida, reside in Marion County and are experiencing a financial hardship.

H.U.G.S can provide assistance with:

  • Rent
  • Utilities
  • Auto repairs
  • Gas for travel to cancer treatments

  • We have also helped with mortgage, homeowners & car insurance and car payments

H.U.G.S is unable to assist with:

  • Medical bills

  • Medical debt

  • Cell phones & bills

  • Cable bills

  • Internet bills

To apply, you must provide verification from a treatment center indicating you are currently under their care for a cancer diagnosis or provide a copy of a bill that you are requesting we assist with along with the date it is due. Funds will be paid directly to the assisted agency (example: utility company, landlord, mortgage company, etc.). Alternatively, bills are paid directly to the business/company that provides the service; food & gas money are given in the form of gift cards.

Applicants are reviewed and processed every 2-3 weeks. The amount awarded depends on need and availability of funds.
